Find Your Dog's Size
The right size is the single most important step - it's what lets the sling stay securely on their hips and support them comfortably. It takes about sixty seconds and two quick measurements. Here's exactly how.

It's the measurements that matter most - not the weight.
Two dogs at the same weight can be built completely differently. A correctly-measured thigh and waist are what truly decide the fit, so when in doubt, trust the tape over the scale.
Step one
Take two measurements (and a weight)
Use a soft fabric tape measure with your dog standing in a natural position. Keep the tape snug but not tight - you should be able to slip a finger underneath. No soft tape on hand? Wrap a piece of string, mark where it meets, then measure the string flat against a ruler.

Waistline
All the way around the body at the waist, just in front of the back legs. This is the measurement that matters most for a secure fit.

Thigh
Around the thickest part of one upper back thigh, near where the leg meets the body. This sets how the leg openings sit.

Weight
A rough guide only - handy for a ballpark, but never the deciding factor. The tape always wins.

Between two sizes? Always size up - the strap cinches a roomier cradle in, but a too-small one can't be made bigger. If your two measurements point to different sizes, go by the waistline and adjust the strap to suit the thigh.
For big dogs

The weight column stops at 100 lb - but the sling doesn't. It's engineered to support up to 150 lb. The limit isn't the strength of the sling; it's whether the size genuinely fits your particular dog.
So for a big dog, only two numbers matter: thigh and waist. If they land in the Large range - thigh up to 27 in (70 cm) and waistline up to 33 in (85 cm) - the Large will fit and hold them, even at 110, 120, 130, or 140 pounds. That covers a lot of the dogs people assume are "too big": leaner Labs and Goldens carrying extra weight, German Shepherds, Dobermans, Weimaraners, Rhodesian Ridgebacks, and many Shepherd or Lab mixes.
Here's where to be honest with yourself: if your dog is genuinely broad - a waist over 33 in or a thigh over 27 in (think the widest Saint Bernards, Mastiffs, or Great Danes) - the Large may not give a proper fit, and a poor fit is exactly what you don't want under a heavy dog. In that case, don't guess. Send us their weight, thigh, and waist and we'll tell you honestly whether the Large will work for them before you spend a penny.
Bottom line: a number on the scale shouldn't decide this - their measurements should. If they fit, the sling has them covered up to 150 lb.
