For big dogs
Over 100 lb? You're still covered.
The weight column stops at 100 lb, but plenty of dogs above it fit the Large just fine - because for a big dog, the two numbers that decide the fit are thigh and waist, not the scale. If they land in the Large range (thigh up to 27 in, waist up to 33 in), the Large will fit and support them. Genuinely broad dog (the widest Mastiffs, Saint Bernards, or Great Danes), or simply want to be sure? Find Your Dog's Size
Measure your dog in a natural standing position and follow the chart. Between sizes, choose the larger size.
It's the measurements that matter most - not the weight. Two dogs at the same weight can be built very differently, so a correctly-measured thigh and waist are what truly decide the fit.
How to measure
Use a soft fabric tape measure with your dog standing. Keep the tape snug but not tight - you should be able to slip a finger underneath. No soft tape? Wrap a piece of string, mark where it meets, then measure it flat against a ruler.
Waistline - all the way around the body at the waist, just in front of the back legs. This is the measurement that matters most for a secure fit.
Thigh - around the thickest part of one upper back thigh, near where the leg meets the body.
Weight - a rough guide only. Two dogs the same weight can be built very differently, so when in doubt, the tape wins over the scale.

If they land in the Large range - thigh up to 27 in (70 cm) and waistline up to 33 in (85 cm) - the Large will fit and support them. That covers a lot of the dogs people assume are "too big": leaner Labs and Goldens carrying extra weight, German Shepherds, Dobermans, Weimaraners, Ridgebacks, and many Shepherd or Lab mixes.
If your dog is genuinely broad - a waist over 33 in or a thigh over 27 in (think the widest Saint Bernards, Mastiffs, or Great Danes) - don't guess. A poor fit is exactly what you don't want under a heavy dog. Send us their weight, thigh, and waist and we'll tell you honestly whether the Large will work for them before you spend a penny.
